Travel Writing
During the summer of 2018, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Rarotonga for an internship. I was tasked with travel writing, specifically focusing on the beaches of the island. Here is an example of one of my descriptions.

Novel Writing
My novel, Pass Your Judgment, is about a post-apocalyptic world in which the gender roles have drastically switched. In this world, women are soldiers and men are treated like lessers. The main character Hazel is the Commander of the people. She is constantly faced with the challenge of protecting the last of the human race as they battle the terrifying Gorgers that prey on them.

Academic Writing
Here are a few of my academic writing samples. The first paper analyzes Jane Austen's and Walter Scott's writing styles focusing on character development and analysis in the novels Emma and Ivanhoe. My second paper is centered on international relations, specifically exploring and analyzing Brexit using nationalism and the balance of power theory.

Creative Non Fiction
"I Am India" is inspired by research about the Partition of India that took place in 1947. The Partition was one of the largest migrations in human history. Due to religious conflict, Muslims were cast out of India into Pakistan and Bangladesh, and the Hindus in those areas were forced back into the new India. In this short story, I explore the story of two girls who were childhood friends: one Hindu, one Muslim. Through letters, the girls relay the horror of being forced to leave their homes and the violence of neighbor against neighbor as the country was torn apart from the inside out. It has been published in Primary Carbon Magazine.

Poetry
When I write poetry, I love to explore emotion, trauma, or anything that I am passionate about. The poems I have chosen to share explore poaching, assault, love, and adventure.
